Baristas wanted!

A bowl of coffee beans

Welcome to The Coffee Lab

At The Coffee Lab we are committed to improving the quality of coffee throughout the nation.

As the Barista standard increases, employers are more discerning over whom they employ. But,

  • how do you tell the difference between a professionally trained Barista and a coffee maker with little or no formal training?

  • In a competitive market place where does an employer find a trained Barista?

  • What qualifications does an employer look for? –

  • How can an employer gauge a Baristas level of skill?

The successful espresso bar has moved on from the old school of thought where the Barista was no more than an extra kitchen hand.

But where do you find highly trained Baristas?

“It is safe to say that if a Barista has not kept up with the latest espresso methods over the last twelve months to two years that Barista is behind the times. This would also be true for espresso bar/Café operators”.

All levels have assessment criteria to gauge a Baristas level of skill to give to the coffee Industry the most comprehensive Barista grading programme in the world to date.

The design of the Barista meeting place is to bring the employer together with an employee. As trainers we are constantly asked for trained Coffee Lab Baristas. The Coffee Lab training and grading system has been formulated to reward and advance current and potential Baristi for the espresso/Café Industry.
