Essence of Espresso
This is an intensive Barista training course designed to thoroughly explain and train the art and science of espresso for the beginner, the advanced and essential for the new cafe operator on how to be competitive. We cover correct extraction involving grinder philosophy, grinder adjustment, espresso machine calibration including correct boiler and pump pressures, programming espresso volumes, tamping techniques, correct milk texturing techniques, objective espresso extractions, subjective espresso extractions, espresso machine troubleshooting and how to complete the full espresso menu. A comprehensive Essence of Espresso manual is provided. A Barista certificate is issued at completion of the workshop.
Cost: $245 per person, two or more $220 per person

2. Payments are non-refundable and are not accepted on the day of the course.
3. Re-scheduling of a course within 7 days of a booked date will incur a $75 fee.
The Complete Home Espresso Course
This course is dedicated solely to the home espresso machine. Learn how to make a better coffee than the café's! Bring your own machine along or practice on one of our domestic machines. The first one and a half hours focuses on the theory behind the ideal coffee extraction and how to achieve the creamiest steamed milk. In the final hour and a half workshop session we practice, practice, practice using all the milk and coffee you can under the guidance of professional accredited DGCI Barista trainers. To cap off the course, there is a thorough clean up procedure to keep your espresso tasting great. A DGCI manual is provided which includes a full description of the espresso coffee menu and a Coffee Appreciation Certificate is issued.
